After reading the article, answer the following questions:

  1. The Alaskan tundra is shifting into a boreal forest. If the tree rings are thin due to hot air being blown, they can calculate that. If there is heavy rainfall, the tree rings are thicker due to more water. Water stimulates growth of the tree thickness. If its a dry spell, the ring will be thinner due to lack of water.
