  1. birds with larger beaks were better adapted than others, de-evolution has occurred; the observation is that there are larger groupings of species into what may be more reminiscent of the originally created kind

  2. Yes, they could get smaller beaks again if the need for it arose. If the food source changed so a smaller beak was needed then the birds would adapt by slowly over time evolving smaller beaks.

  3. The finches could evolve smaller beaks one day because the conditions on the island may change where only the finches with small beaks survive, much like this case only opposite.

  4. birds with larger beaks adapted better than others, de-evolution has occurred. the observation is that there are larger groupings of species.

  5. Yes de-evolution is possible. It depends on if the food source changes to where a short beak is needed.

  6. No, because the plants have shifts in rainfall. The birds with smaller beaks eat seeds, which aren’t always available due to the weird rainfall periods

  7. The finches that evolved bigger beaks could evolve smaller beaks some day. The islands conditions could potentially change and smaller beaks may be possible.

  8. Yes become their environment could change or there could be an abnormality and they could get smaller beaks

  9. It is possible, but only if a plague kills a lot of insects leaving plants alive. This will make the large beaks have a hard time finding food, and small beaks can still get nectar.

  10. Evolution is the adapting of an animal to survive so yes, the bigger beaked finches could someday have smaller beaks. Depending on the food resources available throughout the years it might become needed for the birds to become small beaked, but it takes a few years to see that evolution.

  11. Yes de evolution is possible because animals will adapt to be able to live with their surroundings. If they need a short beak to gather a food source they will eventually de evolve to that.

  12. The birds that evolved bigger beaks could easily evolve smaller beaks if deforestation occurred or anything that made it so their only source of food is the smaller plants or insects.

  13. Yes the island conditions could change and the birds could evolve smaller beaks instead of bigger ones.

  14. Yes de evolution can occur. The need could arise we’re small beaks could benefit the bird most

  15. Yes they could evolve smaller beaks if they change their environment around them. If they had to start getting food a different way there beak would evolve to the best way of getting the food.

  16. Yes this could occur if their environment changes and their last resort is eating things that the normally would not eat.

  17. Their beaks could eventually become smaller if a situation were to occur much the same as the one that caused them to elongate but opposite.
