With regard to the Earth being an open or closed system, what form of energy enters Earth’s system? Explain what becomes of this energy once it enters the system.

  1. The sun’s energy enters the earths system and becomes heat energy that warma the planet.

  2. Solar energy, uv rays, radiation, all those types of energy get into earth and are absorbed by things such as land and wanted, while most of the energy is reflected back to the atmosphere.

Most harmful insolation (like x-rays and ultraviolet light) is stopped by particles in the atmosphere (mainly in the thermosphere and stratosphere).About 50% of sunlight getting to Earth is absorbed by the surface. 19% is absorbed by atmosphere and 31% is reflected back to space

  4. Solar energy enters the earths atmosphere and becomes heat energy that warms the planet and helps substain life.
